| ๐งพ NOTES FOR COLLECTORS Mastering: Features the hand-etched "Ray" signature, identifying this as the work of renowned mastering engineer Ray Hagerty. Hagertyโs cuts are highly prized for their superior dynamic range and "in-the-room" presence. Pressing Plant: Pressed at Abbey Record Manufacturing Co. (identified by the "AB" in the runout). Edition: Second State (Late 1967). This is confirmed by the "NEW" etching in the dead wax (indicating a second lacquer cut) and the "Gold Record Award" logo on the jacket. Label Variant: Side A credits "Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar)" to Weill-Brecht, the correct credit for the second pressing. Historical Value: Authentic mono pressings were phased out shortly after this release, making clean copies with Hagerty's mastering increasingly rare. |
