Endless Wire is the eleventh studio album by English rock band the Who originally released on October 31, 2006. It was their first new album of original material in 24 years following the release of It's Hard in 1982. The album was originally set to be released in early 2005 under the working title WHO2.It's been said before but 'long awaited' doesn't even begin to describe Endless Wire, the 11th album released in 2006 by The Who. It was their first album of new material in 24 years. Recorded, as Pete Townshend puts in the album's sleeve notes, discontinuously over a period of four years, the tracks on the record reflect a band still pushing the boundaries of rock music and unafraid to experiment. Alongside nine new Townshend compositions, half of the album is the full-length version of the mini opera Wire and Glass.
"... an endearingly human, impassioned work that more than justifies Townshend's and Daltrey's decision to continue working as The Who. Hopefully, it will lead to another record or two but if it doesn't, Endless Wire is certainly a better final Who album than It's Hard, which is quite an accomplishment after a quarter-century hiatus." -Stephen Thomas Erlewine,

The Who My Generation 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION MONO QUALITY/GEFFEN RECORDS LP
Remastered 180g Vinyl Reissue Pressed at Quality Record Pressings!
Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of All Time - "My Generation" - Rated 11/500!
My Generation is the debut studio album by English rock band The Who, released by Brunswick Records in the United Kingdom in December 1965. In the United States, it was released by Decca Records as The Who Sings My Generation in April 1966, with a different cover and a slightly altered track listing.
The album was made immediately after the Who got their first singles on the charts and according to the booklet in the Deluxe Edition, it was later dismissed by the band as something of a rush job that did not accurately represent their stage performance of the time. On the other hand, critics often rate it as one of the best rock albums of all time.
This is one of the seminal albums of the '60s along with the White Album and Let it Bleed. Originally mixed to Mono and a few tunes half heartedly to stereo, this record contains the title track "My Generation" which is as accurate today as it was decades ago. Additional tunes include "The Kids Are Alright," "I'm a Man," "It's Not True," and "The Ox" among others.
"An explosive debut, and the hardest mod pop recorded by anyone. At the time of its release, it also had the most ferociously powerful guitars and drums yet captured on a rock record...the Who never surpassed the pure energy level of this record." -Richie Unterberger, allmusic

Deluxe Heavyweight Vinyl Release Of The Who's Classic 1969 Rock Opera!
Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 96/500!
Tommy, The Who's defining, breakthrough concept album - a full-blown rock opera about a deaf, dumb and blind boy that launched the band to international superstardom, was originally released in May 1969. The Who were at a career crossroads, mainly known as a singles band, when this project launched them as a serious 'albums band' and has now sold over 20 million copies as well as regularly turning up in lists of the most influential albums of all time.
Considered the very first "rock opera," this 1969 breakthrough recording from the genius of Pete Townshend was highly controversial upon its release. Originally banned by the BBC and by some U.S. radio stations, the underlying child abuse and molestation theme in the tale of the "deaf, dumb and blind" Tommy Walker was a startling, darker side to the former mod-rockers from Shepherds Bush. The album peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard chart. Townshend proved to himself and the world he could still attempt such libretto and still rock. It spawned such Who staples as "Pinball Wizard," "The Acid Queen," "I'm Free" and "We're Not Gonna Take It/See Me, Feel Me."
"Despite the complexity of the project, [Townshend] and the Who never lost sight of solid pop melodies, harmonies, and forceful instrumentation, imbuing the material with a suitably powerful grace." -Richie Unterberger, allmusic

The Who The Who Sell Out 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP

Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 115/500!
The Who Sell Out is the third studio album by English rock band The Who, released in 1967 by Decca Records in the US. It is a concept album, formatted as a collection of unrelated songs interspersed with faux commercials and public service announcements. The album purports to be a broadcast by pirate radio station Radio London.
Part of the intended irony of the title was that the Who were making commercials during that period of their career. The album features the hit tune " I Can See For Miles" in addition to others like "Mary Anne With The Shaky Hand," "I Can't Reach You," and "Relax" among others.
"... it's a terrific set of songs that ultimately stands as one of the group's greatest achievements...The album is as perfect a balance between melodic mod pop and powerful instrumentation as the Who (or any other group) would achieve." -Richie Unterberger, allmusic.com

THE WHO ARE YOU Remastered 180-gram vinyl reissue pressed at Quality Record Pressings!
Sadly burdened with the trivia of being the last studio recording to feature drummer Keith Moon and thus closing the chapter on the band's original line-up, this 1978 release was also a major progression, not unlike what The Beatles and The Beach Boys undertook as they matured from their simple, rudimentary but still great early years.
In the three years since the release of Who By The Numbers, The Who foursome had undertaken solo projects and other individual interests. Finally reuniting after such an unusually long hiatus, they recorded Who Are You between late 1977 and early '78, in a variety of London-area studios. Without a doubt, everyone in the world would have welcomed recycled Who akin to their first decade of hits. But simple, catchy rock riffs were to be superseded in more complex subjects and daring arrangements. Pete Townshend's observations of moving on and saying farewell ("Sister Disco"), the creative process ("Guitar and Pen"), FM radio and its banal recycled music ("Music Must Change") and battles with alcohol ("Who Are You") are some of his most poignant writings. Bassist John Entwistle contributes three songs, the most in any one Who album. "905," "Had Enough" and "Trick Of The Light" reflect some of his finest, often-overlooked, work.
The album peaked at No. 2 on the pop chart in the U.S., most likely prevented from going No. 1 by the Grease soundtrack. The lone single released, the title song "Who Are You" would become a concert staple, often expanded into a jam for Townshend's guitaristics, and then be licensed out in 2000 for the opening theme to the hit television show CSI: Crime Scene Investigations.

THE WHO BY THE NUMBERS Remastered 180-gram vinyl reissue pressed at Quality Record Pressings!
Having to follow four monumental releases in succession, The Who By Numbers is often overlooked and unfairly overshadowed. Produced again by Glyn Johns and released in 1975, the album is a more modest, simple affair, certainly withstanding the test of time by its own merits.
In what might be his most personal tell-all collection (outside of some of his future solo albums), Pete Townshend lays it out there in lyrics of brutal honesty regarding battles with alcoholism and womanizing. Probably best known for the radio-friendly ditty Squeeze Box, the set also contains patented Who in the terms of "Slip Kid," "Blue Red and Grey" plus one of bassist John Entwistle's best compositions, "Success Story."

Who's Next is the fifth studio album by English rock band The Who, released on August 14, 1971. At the beginning of the '70s, the impact of Tommy weighed heavily on Pete Townshend's shoulders. How on earth would he and the Who top such a successful and important album? The guitarist-songwriter felt he had to take his music and its conceptual strains one step further. He began writing a futuristic fable that would transcend itself beyond the usual conventions of modern music. Intended to be a film, a play, a concert, a mega multimedia and cerebral experience - Townshend called his new project Lifehouse. And although Lifehouse would stay frozen on the blocks for another 30 years, its seeds sprouted the Who's most cohesive and consistent effort, Who's Next.
How Townshend's ambitious follow-up ended up as Who's Next isn't easy to discern. After several false starts and a break with Who manager/mentor, Kit Lambert, the record was eventually rescued and shaped by producer/engineer, Glyn Johns. Much of Townshend's vision was contained within his extensive demos -bits and pieces of a loosely constructed storyline set against experimental melodies and basic backbeats. The album's opening track, "Baba O'Riley," was originally an elongated cycle of synthesizer loops. What it became was an anthem, highlighted by a tumultuous build, Dave Arbus' rambling violin and Roger Daltrey's acclamation of a "Teenage Wasteland." The thunder is sustained by the contagious "Bargain" - now, like so much of the Who's music, a commercial jingle. "Love Ain't For Keeping" chugs away against a fierce acoustic rhythm while John Entwistle's sole contribution of "My Wife" remains one of his most electrifying songs. "This Song Is Over" features Nicky Hopkins' incomparable piano work and ends with a chorus pulled from "Pure And Easy," the central number of Lifehouse that failed to make the final cut, but would resurface three years later on the Odds And Sods compilation. The theme is maintained on "Getting In Tune," reintroduced during the Who's most recent tour, and "Going Mobile," a track with Townshend on lead vocals that recounts a couple of Lifehouse's characters cruising the streets in a Cadillac.
"For all the sorrow and heartbreak that runs beneath the surface, this is an invigorating record, not just because Keith Moon runs rampant or because Roger Daltrey has never sung better or because John Entwistle spins out manic basslines that are as captivating as his "My Wife" is funny. This is invigorating because it has all of that, plus Townshend laying his soul bare in ways that are funny, painful, and utterly life-affirming. That is what the Who was about, not the rock operas, and that's why Who's Next is truer than Tommy or the abandoned Lifehouse. Those were art - this, even with its pretensions, is rock & roll." -Stephen Thomas Erlewine, allmusic

After the 1971 album Who's Next, Pete Townshend returned to the 'rock opera', so dramatically realized through "Tommy", with another ambitious double-album masterpiece. Based around the story of Jimmy, Quadrophenia tells the tale of a young mod and his struggle to come of age in the mid-1960s. The story also takes its influence from the band's early fans from the original mod era, and its themes of teenage angst and disaffection still resonate strongly today.
The project was intended to reflect the four characters of The Who and features some of Townshend's most inspired, personal songwriting - way ahead of its time in scope and purpose. Quadrophenia is one of the most widely recognized albums of The Who's career because of its classic depiction of mod culture, its renowned imagery and the magnificent music and powerful performances. The album is hugely significant in popular culture, influencing many other artists, musicians and film-makers - inspiring the classic 1979 British film by Franc Roddam and the U.K. "mod revival" of the 1970s.
The legendary Glyn Johns production is both powerful and stunning with the writing and arrangements, featuring maybe the most tasteful use of both sound effects and synthesizers in rock recording. Brilliant pianist Chris Stainton (Spooky Tooth) contributes strong support on such songs as The Real Me, The Punk Meets The Godfather, I’m One and Love Reign o’ver Me, all classic Who performances.
"The album that brought back Vespa scooters, parkas and uppers: Pete Townshend took a look at the Who's roots in the London mod scene of the early Sixties and composed this expansive, messy rock opera about a lonely teenage boy looking for love in the city. It gets even better when you check out the movie." - www.rollingstone.com

BBC SESSIONS LIVE- DOUBLE LP - Limited Edition Vinyl U.K. pressing - The nicest thing you can do for your stylus and your ears. The ultimate record - the way music was meant to be heard and of superior quality for any listener.
One of the most creative and explosive bands of the '60s. The Who didn't record an official live album until 1970. For fans of the revved-up, introspective, and humorous fare that made records such as My Generation, Sell Out, and A Quick One instant classics, 1970 was a good three years too late. Rather than referring to sometimes-dodgy bootlegs to discover what "Pictures of Lily," "Disguises," or "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" sounded like live, we are now presented with a surprisingly clear document of the band at-arguably-their peak. A fabulous portrait of the artists as a young band, the disc brims with minor revelations-chief among them that they were pretty sorry as an R&B outfit and that (surprise) with Moon, Entwhistle, and Townshend bashing about, even a mid-tempo number like "Happy Jack" was a total scorcher live.

Digitally remastered by John Astley.
On the 30th anniversary of LIVE AT LEEDS, the Who released this 25-track collection of material recorded between 1965 and 1973. This fascinating aural document provides insight the development of this seminal band from R&B-crazed mods into technically brilliant purveyors of original material. Although the sound quality of the earlier recordings varies a bit, the Who's tight playing and musical nuances (like the group's often-overlooked harmonies) point to greater triumphs in the future.
This quartet of soul fans mixes in familiar hits by the Olympics ("Good Lovin'") and Martha and the Vandellas ("Dancing in the Streets") with more obscure material by Eddie Holland ("Leaving Here") and James Brown ("Just You and Me, Darling"). The last of these nuggets is given a Beatlesque treatment, with Roger Daltrey's impressive begs, screams, and shouts. Toward the latter part of BBC SESSIONS, Pete Townshend's songwriting talents and guitar playing shine, especially on a distorted take on the obscure "Run, Run, Run" and a raw and psychedelic version of "Disguises." Explosive versions of "Relay" and "Long Live Rock" pre-recorded for a January 1973 appearance on the Old Grey Whistle Test wrap up this solid collection .
