DEF LEPPARD EXTREMELY LIMITED-PROMO ONLY-NOT 4 SALE INTERVIEW DISK W/JOE ELLIOT
I worked for Def Leppard’s record company in the 90s. I recently found this in a box in my office. This is an extremely limited, promotional only, not for sale interview disk with Joe Elliott of Def Leppard talking about their new release Adrenalize. Adrenalize came out after the death of Steve Clark and before the addition of Vivian Campbell. Basically the CD was produced to send out to radio stations as there are no questions on it, just the answers. The DJ would ask the questions in studio and then play the answer track on the CD, like he was on a one on one with Joe in the studio. They did similar things with the Beatles and other bands back in the day, but on vinyl. It is in mint unplayed condition. The plastic jewel case is a little scuffed up as you would imagine from sitting in a box for 20+ years. This is a very rare item, I doubt there are many around. If you are a Def Leppard completist you must have this in your collection. Thank you for looking, long live rock ‘n’ roll and long live Def Leppard.

"The time has come to part with some of the cool things I acquired during my years in the music business so I can retire from the extremely boring job I have now, move to my van by the river and sit back and reflect on how lucky I was to do what I did for a living for over twenty years. I will continue to put up promo items, clothing, backstage passes, limited issue things as time allows. I think the pictures tell the story very well but if you have any questions about this twenty + year old item please ask. Long live Rock and Roll! Peace."

Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1977 in Sheffield as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement. Since 1992, the band has consisted of Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitars, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitars, backing vocals), which has been the band's longest running line-up.

The band's strongest commercial success came between the early 1980s and the early 1990s. Their 1981 album, High 'n' Dry, was produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who helped them begin to define their style, and the album's main track " Bringin' On the Heartbreak" became one of the first rock videos played on MTV in 1982. The band's next studio album, Pyromania, was released in January 1983, with " Photograph" and " Rock of Ages" as the lead singles. In the U.S., Pyromania was certified diamond (10× platinum), making Def Leppard among the most popular music groups at the time. In 2003, the album ranked number 384 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. [6]

Def Leppard's fourth album Hysteria, released in 1987, topped the UK and U.S. album charts. As of 2009, it has reached beyond the success of Pyromania, having been certified 12× platinum for sales of over 12 million in the U.S. and has gone on to sell over 25 million copies worldwide. [7] The album spawned seven hit singles, including the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number one " Love Bites", alongside " Pour Some Sugar on Me", " Hysteria", " Armageddon It", " Animal", " Rocket", and " Women". Their next studio album, Adrenalize (the first following the death of guitarist Steve Clark), reached number one in UK and U.S. charts in 1992, and contained several hits, including " Let's Get Rocked" and " Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad". Their 1993 album, Retro Active, contained the acoustic hit song " Two Steps Behind". Their greatest-hits album Vault, released in 1995, featured the UK hit " When Love & Hate Collide".

As one of the world's best-selling music artists, Def Leppard have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, [8] and have two albums with RIAA diamond certification, Pyromania and Hysteria. [9] They are one of only five rock bands with two original studio albums selling over 10 million copies in the U.S. [10] [11] The band were ranked No. 31 in VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" [12] and ranked No. 70 in "100 Greatest Artists of All Time". [13] Def Leppard were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. [14]

Adrenalize is the fifth studio album by English rock band Def Leppard, released on 31 March 1992 through Mercury Records. [6] The album was the first by the band following the death of guitarist Steve Clark in 1991. Instead of replacing him with a new member, the band recorded the album as a four-piece. "We had recorded demos on multitrack," recalled fellow guitarist Phil Collen. "I was sitting there with him when he played the original parts. I could relay that. But it was like playing along to a ghost." [7]
