This vintage 10" 78rpm recording of "GLENN MILLER MASTERPIECES" on RCA VICTOR Records is in VERY GOOD PLUS condition. It is a four record book. The album cover has some scuffing and slight corner wear with one piece of tape, I'll give it a very good plus, considering its age. Most record sides show no wear at all, but there are a couple marks on the outer edges of a couple and one mark across "Chattanooga Choo Choo" that I don't think will affect the play, so I am giving the records a Very Good Plus. This book style album was wrapped and sealed in brown paper, then stored in another box since 1965. The binding is tight and the edge is embossed in gold and reads like new. The sleeves that the records slide into are pristine. I think its prudent to assume that the original collector played each record at least once. See the pictures, they are part of the description. This record set is in remarkable condition for its age. If you are following my listings of this amazing record collection, you know that you can buy with complete confidence! This collection is full of recordings and album covers in condition that is nearly impossible to find. I only have one of each item, so when they are gone, they're gone. So, if you are upgrading your collection, or just getting started, these are the records collectors dream of. Its like they came out of a time capsule.
I grade these albums by holding them up to bright halogen light. I have had some instruction by long time record enthusiasts and dealers. I am not a professional, but am doing my best due diligence.
This record is from a huge collection of thousands of records that have been in storage under safe climate conditions since 1965. The 78s in this collection are first seeing the light of day in January, 2021. The owner of the estate worked for a huge record store from 1954-1964, so all the records in the collection date from that time period, or before. It will take me at least a year to get them all listed, so please keep checking back. There are several genres: jazz, rock, movie soundtracks, classical, western, Spanish, spoken word, special interest...
Every single record album has been in a plastic bag of its own AND each record is in a plastic protector, even if there is a paper inner sleeve. There are 26 boxes in this condition.
Unless otherwise stated, the albums are clean and shiny, the records appear near mint. This is the opportunity to really upgrade your collection! Feel free to ask questions, of course.
