Elvis Presley's 1st Sun recording in the RARE 78 rpm format. As well known by ALL vinyl collectors, there's probably only ONE 78 rpm version of a record left surviving vs. every 40-50 copies of it's 45 rpm counterpart due to the FRAGILE nature of the 78. Thus, making the 78 MORE VALUABLE than it's 45 counterpart. They also make a BETTER display.
Both labels are in great condition. I would say the vinyl is at least a 7.9 to an 8.2 on a scale of 1 to 10. So, maybe a STRONG VG to VG+.
This is a 64 year old survivor that did have SOME play on it and wasn't treated as a collectible, so, DO NOT EXPECT a Mint or Near Mint 78. IF that's what you're needing, look elsewhere. This 78 will frame, hang and display nicely AS IS. There are minor scuffs and hairlines but NO skipping or major noise distractions not related to a 64 year old record. Please excuse the GLARE from the ceiling fan lights and the textured ceiling reflections that show up in the views of the 78 turned sideways trying to show both sides of the record........ This is a REALLY NICE example of Elvis' 1st recording at Sun Records and his 1st professional release on 78 rpm.
