The final installment in Bear Family's documentation of Rick Nelson's recording career includes all of his late career recordings from 1970-1982. Many fans insist that his last years were his best! This set includes his last major hit, Garden Party, and it features the complete 1978 'Back To Vienna' sessions produced by Al Kooper. Most of the songs were previously unreleased! For the first time, the complete 1979 'The Memphis Sessions' songs in their originally-recorded form! Many rare and unreleased songs, including the long-rumored, never-heard 1974 studio versions of Mystery Train and California Free. 'The Last Time Around' brings to a close Bear Family's definitive 3-box overview of Rick Nelson's recording career. Still with his pioneering country-rock Stone Canyon Band, this set begins with four albums - 'Rick Sings Nelson,' 'Rudy The Fifth,' 'Garden Party' and 'Windfall'. 'Garden Party,' of course, featured his last major hit in which he announced his refusal to become an oldies act. The set continues with the 'Intakes' album recorded for Epic, and 'Playing To Win,' originally released on Capitol. And there's more! For the first time in their entirety, Bear Family presents two previously unreleased albums: 'Back To Vienna' produced in Hollywood by Al Kooper with a band of all-star session players; and 'The Memphis Sessions,' with a sympathetic band of (mostly) locals, produced by Larry Rogers. And still more surprises include an entire, live performance recorded with the second-edition Stone Canyon Band heard here for the first time, as well as several single-only, previously unreleased studio sessions, and even a few commercials. The 144-page album-sized hardcover book includes dozens of pictures and other artwork; a full sessionography; and a 25,000-word history by Todd Everett, author of the acclaimed notes for the earlier volumes in this series, 'An American Dream'...
