Henry Thomas -country Blues 78 rpm. His first Record. I am using a 3 mil conical stylus through a Newcomb tr 16 am record player. Sounded better on more modern audio technica with stanton 500 and 3 mil stylus. I imagine a 3.5 mil on this setup would improve the listening quality.

Grading Scale

NMThere are virtually no 78s that can be claimed to be unplayed or mint due to their age, but in very rare cases old store stock may turn up. Records should have no signs of handling or play whatsoever. We seldom use this grade.
VG+Will display few signs of handling and/or play with a steel needle. May have minimal groove wear, if any, and may bear one or two visible imperfections (i.e. faint scratches, sleeve marks, etc).
VG+A few visible imperfections. Signs of play and handling may be slightly more evident, but will typically retain most of its luster and should not have any pervasive imperfections.
VGSame imperfections found in VG+ records, but in slightly greater numbers. Will typically have moderate, even surface wear, and signs of play with a steel needle will be evident.
VG-Imperfections will be in greater numbers than VG records, and may display significant steel needle wear. Surface may retain little or no luster.
GHeavily worn, and/or may present significant amounts of imperfections, such as numerous deep scratches. G+ and G- are used to indicate stronger or weaker copies within this range.
