BACKGROUND:
My late husband, Joe DiSabato, worked in promotion and publicity at various record companies in the early to mid-seventies. Joe conceived and coordinated 17-11-70, Elton's fifth official album release and first live album. And he flew around the country with Elton, taking him to interviews at radio stations. He even told me the story of Elton giving him a "private concert" in his office of new songs from his upcoming album, and how people would walk down the hall and look in at Elton playing the piano in his office. Joe was a wonderful piano player in his own right, and his style was greatly influenced by Elton.
