This is a rare limited edition,hand printed ,silkscreen poster designed and printed by X3 Posters in around 1977 or 78 . It is printed on heavy weight paper, so not on a flimsy thin sheet.
Designed by Ken Meharg and Bob Linney, X3 Posters , were renowned for their contemporary graphic design work and this depicts Joe in his famous 999 shirt using fabulous bright colours that really grab your attention.S ome of their artworks are housed in the V and A.
The poster is from a limited edition run and is numbered 185
A special bonus is that this stand alone graphic artwork was signed and dedicated by Joe Strummer, using a green marker pen ,shown at the bottom of the poster
The poster is approximately 75 cms by 50 cms and is un framed at the moment, to allow easier postage.
Collection is possible or I can post it rolled in a secure tube.
The poster has been around a while and so shows some age related discolouration of the whites but otherwise is in generally very nice condition.It is not as discoloured as the photo shows!
I did not see the poster being signed ,and it definitely has commensurate age associated with the poster and an the auction house I have shown it to did not suggest it faked or a recent addition .
I unfortunately need funds so I have to let it go.
