Founded in London in 1962 by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster while they were still schoolboys, after a number of name and line-up changes (which included the introduction of John Coghlan in 1963 and Rick Parfitt in 1967) the band became The Status Quo in 1967, and Status Quo in 1969. Quo have had over 60 chart hits in the UK - more than any other rock band. Twenty-two of these reached the Top 10, and fifty-seven reached the Top 40. They have released over 100 singles and 33 albums, most of which were bestsellers. Since reaching number 5 on the UK albums chart in 1972 with Piledriver, Status Quo have achieved a career total of 25 UK top ten albums, extending all the way up to their most recent release, Backbone, in 2019. As of 2015, they were one of only 50 artists to have ever achieved more than 500 total weeks on the UK Albums Chart. With their various records for both single and album releases, Status Quo are one of the most successful bands of all time in the UK. But Status Quo have also racked up an incredible number of live appearances over their more than half-a-century as a living, breathing collective. Touring almost every year across their history, a live Quo concert is not just an event to cherish, but equally, a little piece of the entire Status Quo story.

DISC ONE includes Radio and TV sessions the band recorded for live transmission between 1970 and 1973.

DISC TWO brings things forward almost 25 years and features the band’s superb show, recorded at the Philipshalle, in Düsseldorf, Germany, on 16th May 1996.

The collection concludes with DISC THREE, which contains Status Quo’s stunning set recorded for broadcast at the Festsaal Messe, in Basel, Switzerland, on 10th November 2005.
