From my collection of 170,000 LP's, 45's, Sheet Music and Photos that I'm beginning on 31 March 2020 to auction off. Reason for selling the collection is, you guessed it, the big D - Divorce. If anyone is interested in the whole collection, please feel free to contact me. Collection consists of a huge variety of music genres and rare items. Thousands of autographed items, sealed LP's, colored vinyl and picture discs. Vinyl condition is graded by sight only. Payment via PayPal only. All items will be mailed USPS Media Mail, FULLY INSURED AT BUYER'S EXPENSE, and well packed. Any buyer that prefers Priority Mail, PLEASE INFORM ME AT THE TIME YOU MAKE AN OFFER OR PLACE A BID. It's too late after you pay PLEASE DO NOT PAY UNTIL I SEND AN INVOICE. I AM KINDLY ASKING ALL BUYERS TO HONOR THIS, SOME ARE NOT. THE INVOICE IS THE ONLY WAY EBAY ALLOWS ME TO ADD THE COST OF INSURANCE. ANY BUYER PAYING BEFORE RECEIPT OF THE INVOICE WILL BE REFUNDED THEIR PAYMENT.
Offers are always welcome.
John Barry, one of the foremost collectors & experts on Buddy Holly & his signature wrote the following to me in a 30 Jun 20 email "I probably know more about Buddy's autograph & its evolution over time than almost anyone else on the planet. It's very difficult to forge his signature convincingly; at the same time there are definitely "fence-sitter" examples that can be tough to unravel without convincing evidence/provenance. Looking at the photo you forwarded, and especially if the signature looks like it was done rapidly with the photo in front of you , weighting in favor of authenticity are (i) the small hitched loops in the "d's" in "Buddy" because that was a very idiosyncratic feature of his signature; and (ii) (possibly) the flourish underneath "Holly", because that's an odd (and unnecessary) thing to do if you're attempting to create a facsimile. I agree that the large loop in the "H" in Holly is atypical, but he was known to do loops in the middle of the H and the photo could have been signed on the fly, at a weird angle, or in some other way that made the signature appear hurried, etc." An extremely hard autograph to find, especially on an original promotional photo or LP album. There is damage to the bottom left and top left (see photos).
