CLEMENS KRAUSS
“1”
(RICHARD STRAUSS)
MEGARARE Amadeo Records very first High Fidelity MONO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1964 by Goluboff Industrias Fonográficas S.A. (Goluboff Records), catalog number ALC 6024, with hand etched matrix numbers ALC 6024 A in Side 1 and ALC 6024 A in Side 2, with dark pink/black Amadeo Records labels. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for all Clemens Krauss lovers, fans and collectors!!!
“1” is a compilation album released for the 10th anniversary of the Clemens Krauss death, which also almost coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Richard Strauss birth and late of 1964 we could see this rare album released here in Chile and like so many times in that period we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of a single piece of cardboard folded in the middle with two sheets of paper attached (only glued in the mouth edge) to that cardboard for front and back cover, so 3 sides are open and kept together for a plastic bag. Front cover keeps the same artwork used in other South American countries, but I don’t really know the original Amadeo Records issue, the only similar issue I found it’s by Philips Records (you can check and compare in this link: http://www.discogs.com/Richard-Strauss-Clemens-Krauss-Divertimento-Capriccio-Interlude-Rosenkavalier-Waltzes/release/2041226 ), so it seems the picture of Clemens Krauss and Richard Strauss is the same in all releases, with the tracklist written in Spanish at bottom right corner. Back cover has a very simple design, the name of Richard Strauss at top edge, the tracklist and a brief review about this album, the friendship between Krauss and Strauss and the tracks, with Amadeo Records logo and catalog number at top right corner and Goluboff Records credit at bottom edge. In labels the album title is “VOL. 1” and song titles are written in Spanish, with sections written in original French. It’s interesting to notice an error, the song “Le Tic-Toc-Choc – La Lutine”, correctly written in back cover, is misspelled “Le Tic-Toc-C HOC - …” in label. So, here you have the chance to own this RARE album by Clemens Krauss, released in 1964 in Chile with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE BACK COVER and UNIQUE ERROR!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, no ring marks, some faint bends, some general wear in the edges, more evident in corners, with some slight creases and very little rips (almost impossible to avoid because the sheets of paper are a bit bigger than cardboard), with some age browning in back cover and a small writing in back cover. The record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with light scuffs and hairlines, some soft scratches and some marks, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great EX+ or NM- condition, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in great VG or VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, with a very soft background noise(surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with some constant light crackles in parts and soft occasional pops here and there, with two soft clicks almost at the end of the side caused by a little scratch, which don’t cause major distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, sure some people would consider this record closer to EX- condition. Overall, this is a great record, sure not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but still with a very nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after 51 years which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget the UNIQUE COVER, the UNIQUE BACK COVER and UNIQUE ERROR!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again… Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile _________________________________________________________ We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description. MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records. NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition. BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. PAYMENT PayPal (send me a message if you offer some other way to pay that we can accept) Payment must be received within the first 7 seven days after the auction is ended SHIPPING (Packing and Postage) We have an unique value worldwide: GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl) GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12") GBP7 for one 7” record All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services. FEEDBACK We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records. IMPORTANT TO READ We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.
