CD-Video: U2 - With or Without You - CD Video CDV IS 319 * RARE *

Up for sale is a rare copy of U2's With or Without You in the CD Video format. The song was never formally released in this format but some test discs were created for the UK, US and Japan markets. This CD video was for the US market with the video element in the NTSC format, the disc has the code IS319.

The cd video format appeared around 1987; as well as having the ability of storing regular audio tracks on it, they could also hold videos. Many 5" cd video singles were released but by the start of the 1990's the format began to fade away. The 5" cd video singles closest comparison today would be the dvd single. The audio tracks can be played on conventional cd players but the video track can now only be played on a Laserdisc player, the video CANNOT be played on dvd players or computers and the 'cd video' format should not be confused with the 'video cd' format which is something different.

This cd has four tracks on it, three audio tracks and a video track which is the music video for with or without you. The audio tracks all play without any problems.

The three audio tracks on the disc are: 1) With or Without You, 2) Luminous Times (Hold On to Love), 3) Walk to the Water.

As far as the condition goes, the disc has some small scratches near the spindle hole on both sides of the disc and some fine scratches near the perimeter of the disc; the photos show the small scratches near the spindle hole. The case has many fine scratches on the back and front as well as a few scuff marks and these are shown in the photos as well. Note that the last photo shows the scratches on the back of the case and not the cd surface.
