LaserDisc: Prince - Rare Sealed Billboards Joffrey Ballet LaserDisc

This production was quite special and Prince's contribution of his music helped save the Joffrey Ballet. There is a good introduction-type of video on YT titled "Joffrey Ballet does Prince en Pointe" where the Artistic Director discusses working with him. (That video also includes a lot of the 'behind-the-scenes' rehearsal/studio footage which isn't very commonly seen.)

I have this program on VHS and have watched it many times, I love it! This show brought a whole new genre to ballet, so even if you're not a huge ballet fan, it's still very enjoyable if you're a fan of the music. It's a different experience to watch dancers interpret his music and not have your eyes glued to Prince and his band. The dancers are beautiful and some of the dances are hot and sensuous...like the music. The only un-released music included is an extended version of Thunder, titled The Thunder Ballet, which is 10:50 minutes long.

LaserDiscs are a nice collectible, since you get the 12" artwork like with a vinyl album. I bought a player from a pawn shop so I could watch some of the Prince discs I'd gathered.
