You have here a sealed original 1978 1st press **withdrawn** ROLLING STONES 'Some Girls' LP , COC-39108.
This is the first cover that includes unauthorized pictures of Lucille Ball, Rachel Welch, Farrah Fawcett, Doris Day, Joan Crawford and Marilyn Monroe. It has a n elaborate die-cut design, with colours varying on different sleeves, it featured The Rolling Stones in garish drag alongside select female celebrities and lingerie ads. The cover immediately ran into trouble when Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett, Liza Minnelli (representing her mother Judy Garland), Raquel Welch, and the estate of Marilyn Monroe threatened legal action. It was quickly reissued with a revised cover that removed all the celebrities whether they had complained or not, and were replaced with black and punk style garish colours with the phrase PARDON OUR APPEARANCE - COVER UNDER RE-CONSTRUCTION (found on most reissues since). The only celebrity whose face was not removed was that of ex-Beatle George Harrison.
This album is in super nice condition, only very light wear to top left corner (a little crease on back side). Otherwise, barely any surface rub. A super nice specimen!! Shipping price includes insurance.
