Is this Item a Fake or Counterfeit?
Incredibly rare one of a kind framed 11x14 display of a large section of a stage-makeup stained t-shirt owned and worn by George Harrison of The Beatles obtained by super fan and Harrison family friend Susan (Sue) Houghton in 1963. Sue was an original Beatles fan who used to go watch them play at the Cavern Club. Sue befriended George and his mother, Louise, both of whom would give Sue random pieces of George’s clothing and other personal items. See the photo of Sue with George’s parents in the listing. Pictured for provenance purposes only to highlight how close Sue was to the Harrisons is a handwritten letter from George to Sue with instructions for washing his car. Sue is even referenced and quoted in “the biography” of The Beatles “Tune In”. Sue displayed her George treasures in scrapbooks that were later sold at auction, first by Christies and then by Tracks. Sue’s scrapbooks made international headlines when one of the pages containing a partially eaten piece of George’s toast sold at auction. Over the years I acquired multiple pages from Sue’s scrapbooks. I carefully removed some of the items and created signed displays. Pictures of these scrapbook pages are pictured here for provenance purposes only and are NOT included in this listing. The display up for auction here contains a large section of a stage-makeup stained white undershirt owned and worn by George Harrison in 1963. It is framed with a reprint photo of George signing an autograph for a fan in 1963 with his undershirt visible in the photo. Also included in this listing is an original black and white photo of George from one of Sue’s scrapbook pages. The items come with a signed letter of authenticity with a lifetime guarantee. I’ve been buying and selling Beatles memorabilia for 20 years and have done business with major auction houses around the world so bid with confidence. Don’t miss out on these great rare pieces of Beatles memorabilia. Low opening bid and reasonable reserve … Happy bidding!
