Description
Exceedingly scarce and highly collectible large original first printing concert poster advertising German electronic music group Tangerine Dream at the Cathedrale de Reims in Reims [France] on Friday, 13th December, 1974, with German singer Nico as special guest. The concert in Reims was part of the group’s tour of continental Europe during November and December 1974 in support of the Phaedra album, their fifth studio album, produced by Edgar Froese and released on 20th February, 1974 by Virgin Records. It was the first Tangerine Dream album to feature their now classic sequencer-driven sound, which is considered to have greatly influenced the Berlin School genre. The album marked the beginning of the group’s international success and was their first album released on the Virgin label. It achieved six-figure sales in the UK, reaching #15 in the UK Albums Chart in a 15-week run, with virtually no airplay, only by strong word of mouth. By this time, Nico had also just released her fifth studio album, The End …, produced by John Cale and released by Island Records.
The poster is HUGE and measures 78.0 x 119.0 cm (approx. 30.7″ by 46.8″ inches). It is beautifully printed on thin, smooth-finish uncoated paper stock.
