Vinyl: Bob Dylan Amazing Vinyl LP and more collection - 197 vinyl some great rare stuff
Bob Dylan vinyl record collection:
197 pieces of vinyl (doubles counted as 2)
147 12” vinyl LP (almost all albums but inc. the odd 12” promo etc.) – 50 7” singles
This is a private sale – I am not a dealer – of my much-loved Dylan vinyl LP and singles collection. Genuine reason for sale and I’ve tried to be as descriptive as I can below. Please contact me with any questions, request for more pictures etc etc and I will do my best. I have not graded as per the Record Collector system because I am a private individual and not a dealer and life’s too short but I appreciate the detail that some may require on the below. We all know that the bootleg series / mono box set below combined are worth a small fortune so I’ve put a reasonably modest reserve on this lot but I’d love it to go to a good home. Please read to the end – personal collection from my house in Bristol BS31.
Many thanks. See below for list.
Vinyl LP box sets:
The Original Mono Recordings (8LP box set) excellent condition. Unplayed but not sealed. Little bit of box shelfwear but otherwise exactly as it was when I bought it.
The Bootleg Series Vol 1-3 - 1961-1991 (5LP) bit of damage to the box but generally good
The Bootleg Series Vol 4 - “The Royal Albert Hall Concert” (2LP box – rare 200gm version) unplayed

The Bootleg Series Vol 12 – The Best of The Cutting Edge 1965-1966 (3 LP box) unplayed

Vinyl LPs (regular canon Bob albums):
Most of these are VG/G condition in the way that regular albums are when you just buy them and sporadically play them over the years and have largely just sat on the shelf. Some have a bit of shelf / ringwear etc (some have a fair amount of that, some don’t and are excellent) and none of them will be perfect (apart from the later ones – Time Out Of Mind-ish onwards – when I bought them new and in most cases never played) so none are mint but none are terrible either. If there are obvious exceptions, I’ve noted below. It’s been a well-loved collection, sure you understand what I mean!
Bob Dylan (CBS UK orange label stereo)
The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan
2 versions: two variants of UK orange label stereo pressings, one with the ‘stereo’ symbol above the title on the cover (the better of the two) and one without. Both quite nice copies though.
The Times They Are A-Changin’
2 versions: UK CBS orange label and the recent (2018-ish?) Columbia pressing for the ‘complete Bob Dylan’ magazine series. This one still sealed.
Another Side of Bob Dylan (Columbia US red label) later pressing is my guess as Columbia label design looks more late 60s/70s than the 1964 variant (don’t quote me on that, that’s just an uneducated guess).
Bringing It All Back Home (UK CBS orange label) Nice copy, but with tape repairs at top and bottom of cover.
Highway 61 Revisited (UK CBS orange / yellow label) label style would suggest 70s/80s pressing.
Blonde On Blonde (New Zealand CBS orange label mono 2LP) an interesting one for the collection but not in the best of shape - cover spine been repaired with some tape and both discs have obviously been well played and are marked and no doubt crackly. Still it’s nice to have and the laminated cover is largely good despite the bit of tape repair!
John Wesley Harding
2 versions: UK CBS orange label and US Columbia red label. Both quite nice.
Nashville Skyline
2 versions: UK CBS orange and yellow label (70s/80s pressing) and US Columbia 360 sound red label. The sleeve of the US version has got obvious signs of wear but the record is very good.
Self Portrait (UK CBS orange labels 2LP)
New Morning
2 versions: UK CBS orange label, US Columbia red label.
Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid
2 versions: UK CBS orange label and Holland orange and yellow label.
Dylan 1973 (UK CBS orange label)
Planet Waves (US Columbia red label) 1982-ish pressing when Columbia acquired the rights to the album.
Before The Flood (UK Island 2 LP)
Blood On The Tracks
2 versions: UK CBS orange label with red (burgundy?) back cover with text and later UK CBS orange/yellow label with painting image on the back cover. This one tape repaired at the top.
The Basement Tapes
2 versions: UK CBS orange and yellow label 2LP and US Columbia red label 2LP
Desire
2 versions: UK CBS orange and yellow label and UK Columbia 90’s issue red label

Please note: I cannot post or mail this and could really do without packing it up for collection so preference is for buyer to collect. I don’t want any after-sales shenanigans so please contact me if you have any questions, specific queries, want more photos etc – I’ve tried to be as reasonable as I can in the descriptions above but please remember I’m not a record dealer nor am I Amazon so please do this in good faith. I don’t want to be contacted in six weeks weeks time because there’s a skip on side two, track three of ‘Down In The Groove’ (in any case, would that be such a bad thing?) You know what I mean. Will happily give you any more details you would like. Seriously this is a great collection and I’m selling it because I have to so would love it to go somewhere that it’s appreciated. There might be one or two other records that I’ve missed and I’ll throw those in as well if that’s the case.
Many thanks for reading this far. May God bless and keep you always…
