Condition is "Like New". It has been stored safely in it's original "Big O" polythene sleeve (see photo 7) from new and has never been hung on a wall or exposed to light (except to check and photograph here)
Size 93 x 70 cm (36 x 27 inches approximately)
A rare opportunity to own a piece of rock and art history. Often considered as the most iconic of the psychedelic era posters, this is very sought after by collectors.
If you are reading this then you probably know what you are looking at and how hard it is to find an original copy.
You will also know that is almost impossible to find a copy in this condition.
It is a stunning image and the photographs can barely do justice to the vibrant colours.
If you are not sure what you are looking at, but are interested, then head over to this excellent blog by Michael Organ which explains the history of the image and the poster.

Briefly.... the image first appeared in OZ magazine number 15 (See photo 8 of my own copy of the magazine)
It was based on a photograph by Linda Eastman (later McCartney) of Jimi at the Rheingold Festival in Central Park, NY, July 1967.
Big O posters, which had connections with OZ magazine, then produced this poster which could be bought mail-order or was sold in a few "Head Shops" and independent record shops.
I have included a photo (photo 9 above) of a page from one of the later OZ magazines advertising this and other Big O posters.
The image was also used as the cover for the Mick Farren book "Get on Down - A Decade of Rock and Roll Posters".
(See photo 10 above) in 1976.
The poster even appears briefly in the recent Apple TV documentary series "1971, The Year That Music Changed Everything"
The OZ magazines and the Mick Farren book are not included in the sale.
