CD: Metallica Stone Cold Crazy 1990 Elektra Promo CD *Fully Signed* *Ultra Rare*
Some of you may know me as I have been a fan and collector for 25 years now (Steve Gill) but with a growing family and an aspiration to own my own home again I am selling off some of my collection. I am listing what I am prepared to currently sell. If its not listed then sadly right now its not for sale or I don’t own that item anymore. If you believe an item is ‘highly’ priced please read below as I am mainly selling incredibly high condition Metallica items and sell to collectors who only want the very best condition items within their collection.
Anyway here is the Ultra rare Metallica Stone Cold Crazy Promo CD!! It is fully signed and came direct from Metclub to me! It was a ‘gift’ for signing up members to the Metallica Club. The signatures date from 1998. Jason is a lovely signature, one of the nicest I have seen, Lars is sort of Lars! A bit scrappy but they always are! Kirk is just his simple KH and Hetfields although big is not as nice as it could be! A good overall set. I would rate at 7/10. The condition of this CD and inlay is Near Mint. The case shows only the slightest hardly visible rubbing marks. This is a lovely example! The case and tray are original. Genuine signatures direct from Metclub and a super rare CD... A winning combo? It must be!!
Note: If a CD is sold without its original period case and tray them the CD is not original. The original grey trays are much heavier and the plastic cases higher quality than the modern ones. If a case needs replacing it also indicates the CD has not been cared for properly. This might not bother some collectors but for me a 100% original item is mandatory.
Unless sealed I always play CD’s, Cassettes and Vinyl once to test them prior to archiving. All CD’s have been tested on a Naim 555 CD player, all Cassettes on a Yamaha KX580 Cassette Desk and all Vinyl on a Linn LP12. All of these sources are very high quality and will indicate any problems with the item meaning ai can grade with absolute confidence.
My grading for CD’s is the same as with Vinyl or Cassettes and I use the ‘Goldmine’ standard rather than just giving them a grade based on my interpretation! The Goldmine standard is much harsher than most so you may be surprised when I am grading VG+ vs someone else with a lesser condition item is supposedly Near Mint condition. For example I will never grade a used and played cassette as Near Mint as the tape will degrade over time and can’t possibly be Near Mint 30 years after release!
All of my Cassettes, CD’s, and Vinyl are stored in a specially designed shelving unit out of direct sunlight. Any handling is very minimal. Many of these Cassettes, CD’s & Vinyl have been owned by me since new! My collection is kept at a constant temperature inside my house irrespective of season.
I am listing a fair chunk of my Metallica collection (over time) and have a lot of other Metallica items listed so please feel free to search my other listings as I am sure you will find something else!
