In 1982 The Jam undertook a World Tour in support of the release of their latest studio album, The Gift. BothThe Gift and the single release from the album, Town Called Malice, rose to Number 1 in the UK charts. so it was a major surprise to the legion of fans when Paul Weller announced that the band would be breaking up after the tour. The tour became known as the Farewell Tour, and true to his word, The Jam disbanded after the final show in Brighton on 11/12/1982.
On this tour, The Jam played 5 nights straight at London's Wembley Arena from the 1st to the 5th of December where this t-shirt was acquired.
The Set List for the first of these shows was:
Start!, It's Too Bad , Beat Surrender, Away From The Numbers, Ghosts, In The Crowd, Boy About Town, So Sad About Us, All Mod Cons, To Be Someone, Smithers-Jones, The Great Depression, Precious, Move On Up, Circus, David Watts, Mr Clean, Pretty Green, Trans-Global Express, Town Called Malice, In The City, The Gift.
This T-Shirt is in VERY GOOD condition with no rips, holes or stitch separation. There are some minor cracks to the print.
Please note the Label/ Tag has the bowed/fatter A in Stars, circa.1981 to 1982, as opposed to the straight A which was introduced in 1983.
The t shirt measures:
Pit to Pit Front: 46cm
Collar to Hem Front: 58cm
Collar to Hem Back: 65cm
