ORIGINAL Stevie Ray Vaughan Antone's poster 1991. RARE poster art for world-famous Austin, Texas blues club Antone's, featuring Texas music ICON Stevie Ray Vaughan! Artist Edward Canada pays tribute to the blues legend whose untimely death in 1991 broke the hearts of music lovers in Austin and around the world. This fantastic hand-drawn art was created that same year, and the celestial background infers it was created after Stevie had gone to the great beyond. A smilin' Stevie is sporting his signature hat, with a crown befitting the music royalty that he was. He's wearing a Fabulous Thunderbirds band t-shirt, referencing another legendary Austin blues act of the day. And 'check' out the reflection in his sunglasses -- maybe the floor of the old Fran's Hamburgers, one of his favorite haunts? Everything about this classic, one-of-a-kind art is sooooooo Austin, and just c-double-oh-el COOL!
Measures 11 x 17, medium card stock. VERY GOOD condition! Black print still fresh as yesteryear! (Background is more off-white than the photo shows.) Noted flaws: Bending in lower left corner, very slight bending in upper left and lower right corners. Some pinholes in all corners. All of these small flaws will be mostly hidden when framed, and none detract from the integrity of the art.
