The original mono and stereo vinyl LP’s in their award-winning revolutionary round sleeves were incredible. Unfortunately, subsequent editions on vinyl, tape and CD all suffered from varying sound quality, distortion, incorrect edits and fades and poor packaging which was unacceptable for such a historic and important album. The original stereo albums are the better of the two aurally, and the recorded sound is breathtaking. As this was still the era of mono, the stereo is far harder to find these days.

Vinyl: VG++. A splendid heavy vinyl that sounds marvellous all the way through. It has only a couple of wispy retraction type paper traces and two very wispy hairlines on each side. A totally well cared for album which are few and far between for this album. Of course this is the earliest ultra heavy quality vinyl being an original first press with the very first matrices and earliest mother stampers. Not very many out there left now so late in the day .... how many would there realistically be in this gorgeous condition?? Most copies found these days are trashed and unworthy. Both sides have a small stamp near the centre. What a delight to find this stunner! Tested on my trusted Linn Sondek/Rotel/Technics set-up and it sounded fantastic!

Gimmix sleeve: EX. An incredible design and because of it very very vulnerable. The five round disc panels are kept together by very thin seams which would tear with the smallest of wrong moves. I have made a close-up picture to show you just how intricate the joint really is. As a result this sleeve can barely ever be found without repairs of some kind. This sleeve has totally weathered all storms and is in a unique intact condition. Every joint is still attached. No writing, no smudging etc. Get this while you still can. I don't think I will see another one for a long long time.
