Vinyl: ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ATTRACTIONS "I CAN'T STAND UP" Rare UK 2-TONE 7" Single

UK Original 2-TONE label 7" Single (CHS TT 7-A/B)

Never officially released on this label, just a few thousand copies leaked out by being given away at EC gigs, which is where I got it. I think it may have been in a plain white sleeve at the time and I found a 2-tone sleeve to put it in later.

The run-off groove has a stamp with CHS TT 7-A1 or B1 on it and an etched-on XX 1 number as well.

A Sam & Dave soul number from 1967, this record eventually came out in February 1980 on the F-Beat label (XX1) and hit #4 in the UK charts.

The "B" side is EC's version of his own composition, which had been a hit for dave Edmunds in June '79 (and also got to #4 in the UK charts).

The record has been play-graded as well as visually graded. It plays as "EXCELLENT", with not a glimmer of surface noise, but looks like its lost some of its sheen, visually. So, only "VG+" or perhaps "EX-".
