ORIGINAL EARLY TO MID 1960s CAPITOL RECORDS STEREO PORTABLE PHONOGRAPH!

VINTAGE EARLY TO MID 1960s CAPITOL RECORDS STEREO PORTABLE PHONOGRAPH IN GREAT WORKING CONDITION! (Capitol Records.) THIS IS A VERY RARE PHONOGRAPH INDEED, AND THE ONLY ONE I'VE COME ACROSS IN ALL THESE YEARS. PLAYS AND SOUNDS VERY NICE. PERHAPS THE SLIGHTEST HUM, BUT VERY NICE! ALL SPEEDS WORK. THE SPEED/SOUND RELATIONSHIP IS RIGHT. THE FACT THAT IT IS A STEREO PHONOGRAPH IS VERY COOL AS WELL. IT APPEARS THESE WERE MADE BY THE SAME PLANT COMMISSIONED TO MANUFACTURE THE BEATLES CUSTOM PHONOGRAPHS FROM AROUND THE SAME TIME PERIOD. AT VERY LEAST, THE COMPONENTS AND CONSTRUCTION ARE VERY COMPARABLE. THE ' SERIAL NUMBER ' TAG UNDER THE LID IS VERY SIMILAR AS WELL TO THE FULL BEATLES UNIT. AND BEING A CAPITOL RECORDS BRAND, THIS ONE IS FANTASTIC ALSO FOR DISPLAYING ANY SWIRL LABEL BEATLES 45! IN ONE OF MY IMAGES, I SHOW THE ' NOWHERE MAN ' 45 AND ' RUBBER SOUL ' ALBUM. BOTH PLAY WELL! (sorry, neither record is included with it, but it sounded great~!) INTERIOR CONDITION IS VERY NICE WITH REALLY NO ISSUES OTHER THAN SOME AGING. THE CORD IS IN GREAT SHAPE AS ARE ALL THE KNOBS AND CONTROLS. BOTH THE 45, 33. 78 SPEED NEEDLES ARE PRESENT AND WORK FINE ON THE TONE ARM. THE FELT IS STILL VERY NICE ON THE TURNTABLE. THE CENTER PIECE ADAPTER IS PRESENT AND IN GOOD SHAPE ALSO. THE EXTERIOR IS NICE SAVE FOR WEAR AT THE LOWER RIGHT FRONT CORNER WHICH HAS WORN DOWN IN AN AREA ABOUT 1" X 1/2". THE WOOD IN THAT AREA IS NICE AND RETAINS FULL ROUNDED CORNER SHAPE. OTHERWISE, SOME SOILING, SMALL STAINS AND BLEMS AROUND, BUT NOT TOO BAD. THE IMAGES TELL THE STORY WELL. SIZE IS 13" X 10" X 7".
