8-Track cartridge: JETHRO TULL GENESIS ATOMIC ROOSTER AQUALUNG WIND & WUTHERING 3 8-track tapes

Offered here is a lot of three 8-track tapes: Aqualung by Jethro Tull, Wind & Wuthering by Genesis, and Death Walks Behind You by Atomic Rooster. These tapes were are made in Canada and represent a burgeoning and prolific progressive rock scene from the English / British / UK music market.

"Aqualung is the fourth studio album by the rock band Jethro Tull. Released in 1971... Aqualung's success signalled a turning point in the band's career, which went on to become a major radio and touring act....Aqualung has sold more than seven million units worldwide, and is thus Jethro Tull's best-selling album.....The album spawned two singles, 'Hymn 43' and 'Locomotive Breath'."

"Wind & Wuthering is the eighth studio album by English progressive rock band Genesis. It was released on 17 December 1976 on Charisma Records and is their last studio album to feature guitarist Steve Hackett....The album received a positive response from critics and contributed to the band's growing popularity in the US. It reached No. 7 in the UK and No. 26 in the US and sold steadily, eventually reaching Gold certification... The single 'Your Own Special Way' was the band's first charting single in the US, reaching No. 62."

"Death Walks Behind You is the second studio album by British rock band Atomic Rooster. It was their first album to receive US release, albeit in a different sleeve. It is commonly thought of as the archetypal Atomic Rooster album, recorded by the 'classic' line-up of Vincent Crane, John Du Cann and Paul Hammond. It is certainly, critically and commercially, their most successful album and often hailed as a classic of the progressive rock genre. It also produced the hit single "Tomorrow Night" (UK #11), which became one of the band's best-known songs."

These tapes play through with no issues. (see note below).

Note: I am a hobbyist. I do minor repairs that are needed to make tape cartridges playable on my tape deck. This may include: replacing sensing foil splices, replacing foam pads, respooling a tape reel, etc. Due to their design, 8-track tape cartridges are subject to shipping shock during shipment. The most common type of shipping shock I see is that the tape becomes despooled from the inner section of the reel. If one tries to play a tape that is despooled in this manner, the tape itself will suffer damage. Therefore, when one receives a tape cartridge such as the one(s) in this auction, I recommend that one open the tape cartridge, inspect it for shipping shock, and repair it if necessary before attempting to play it. If this is beyond your skills, you may wish not to bid on this auction. These tapes are playtested by me and are working properly before being offered for sale unless so noted in the auction description.
