Nirvana 1991 Pre-Nevermind Reading Festival British Concert Flyer

This item was purchased through Heritage Auctions, their description is below:

Nirvana 1991 Pre-Nevermind Reading Festival British Concert Poster. A bright orange poster for the 1991 edition of the Reading Festival in the United Kingdom packed with artists like Sonic Youth, Iggy Pop and Dinosaur Jr. But the very memorable act on the first day of the festival (August 23) was a young band originally from Aberdeen that was about to release their second LP: Nirvana.

Their 40-minute afternoon set featured numerous tunes from Bleach and the then-unreleased Nevermind, which would come out the following month and make a huge dent on pop culture. Five songs from Nevermind were played, including the future singles "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Come as You Are." The band even toyed around with a version of the Doors' "The End" and were joined by Eugene Kelly from the Vaselines for a cover of said band's "Molly's Lips."

The following year, Nirvana headlined the Reading Festival, giving the audience 90 minutes of bubblegum-flavored punk and hard rock. This first-time Heritage offering measures 39 ¾" x 29 ½" and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Footage from this memorable set (including the set-ending destruction of equipment) was later featured in Dave Markie's documentary 1991: The Year Punk Broke, as well as Nirvana's "Lithium" video, which was a staple on MTV in 1992.

Condition details: Has creasing throughout, and there's a tear in the "T" of "The Godfathers."
