Vinyl: THE SUPREMES 7" BUTTERED POPCORN/WHO'S LOVING YOU TAMLA MOTOWN 54045 DIANA ROSS
Offered for sale is a very rare 7" vinyl record by The Supremes (later Diana Ross & The Supremes). 'Buttered Popcorn / Who's Loving You' features Florence Ballard on lead vocals rather than Diana Ross. It was released in the USA in 1961 on the Tamla label - and failed to chart. They later became the Motown label's most successful act of all time, making this a very rare and sought-after example of their earlier work. It comes in a plain sleeve.
The record is as issued with a wide centre, and is in fair to good condition considering its age. It has some rough marks along the outer edge of both sides, and there is a very small chip to the outer edge of the A side before the grooves - please see the pictures for a close up view of all of this. But none of this has affected the playback and it plays through fine on both sides with no skips or jumps. There are some initials in marker pen on the B side (please see the pictures), but other than that both labels are clean and clear.
The vinyl is housed in a plain sleeve. This is a bit worn but has protected the record itself. its original picture sleeve. This is a bit worn along the top, opening edge, but is otherwise in remarkably good condition given its age - with no splits or handwriting anywhere.
All in all, this is a fairly good example of this very rare record from The Supremes, that still has plenty of life left in it for a collector or fan.
Please feel free to ask any questions, and please take a look at my other items, including other Supremes vinyl - I'm very happy to combine postage for multiple purchases.
