Vinyl: THE SUPREMES 7" WHEN THE LOVELIGHT STARTS SHINING THROUGH HIS EYES UK SS 257

Offered for sale is a very rare 7" vinyl record by The Supremes (later Diana Ross & The Supremes). 'When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes / Standing At The Crossroads Of Love' was their first single to be released in the UK in late 1963 / early 1964. It failed to chart, but they soon became the Motown label's most successful act of all time, making this a very rare and sought-after example of their earlier work. It comes in a plain sleeve.

The record is as issued with its 4-prong push-out centre, and is in really good condition considering its age. The vinyl itself is still quite glossy; there are some minimal surface marks and very light scratches - please see the pictures, but these really are small and for a record of its age they are very minor. It plays well with no skips or jumps.

The labels are both clean and clear, with no handwriting anywhere. There are some minor spindle marks to both sides, more on the B side label as presumably the A side was played more often, but again these are minor. Please see the pictures for a fair overview of the condition.

The vinyl is housed in its original Stateside company sleeve. This is showing its age a bit, especially on the back, but is still pretty good overall. It has done its job of protecting the record itself.

All in all, this is a nice example of this very rare record from The Supremes, that still has plenty of life left in it for a collector or fan.
