Butch Hancock - No 2 Alike
Mega rare cassette only release from 1990. This was a limited edition mail order only set sold through Hancock's own Rainlight Records as a "tape of the month club". There were originally 14 cassettes I am missing tapes 5,6,8,&13. Each cassette insert is hand signed by Hancock. These live recordings have never been reissued on any format. The cassettes and inserts are all in excellent condition, some of the cases may have minor cracks.
Notes
Butch Hancock's legendary "No Two Alike" series of concerts, recorded at the Cactus Café in Texas over six evenings in February 1990, where Hancock played with guest musicians - such as Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Joe Ely -- and never repeated a song.
This 1990, 14-cassette collection was available by “subscription” only and is very rare. There is a total of 140 songs. Each cassette has black and white inserts with photos and liner notes, and each is autographed by Hancock.
Some versions contain a printed index of songs for easy track locating.
Over the years, some of his work has been released in compilation form on Sugar Hill, but fans agree that the highlight of his career is the "No Two Alike" series, a collection of 14 tapes capturing a six-night stand at the Cactus Cafe, where he's joined by a multitude of guests and never repeats a song.
