Vinyl: The Magnificent Thad Jones Blue Note 1527 RVG P/Ear 9M Lexington Frame Flat

First pressing from 1956 which includes a flat edge disc, frame jacket, deep grooves, Lexington labels, RVG hand etched on both sides, 9M etched on both sides, and p/ear etched on both sides. This is the much harder to find variant with the plastylite ear marking on both sides of the matrix. Most original copies were pressed with p/ear on side 2 only.

Record:

Side 1: Retains its original gloss with some surface scuffs and tiny hairlines. There is 1 lightly feel-able thin mark that runs through tracks 2 and 3 which causes some tics/pops. Some background surface noise which is mostly noticed in the quieter sections but overall, an enjoyable listen. Music comes through nice and clear.

Side 2: Retains its original gloss with some surface scuffs and tiny hairlines. No feel-able marks were noticed on this side. Plays through well with some background surface noise most notable in the quieter sections. Plays strong and still enjoyable.

Jacket: Clean jacket with minimal wear. Spine is nice and intact. No seam splits noticed. Bottom right corner has a small ding. Back cover has old sticker residue on top right.

Player copy for an intermediate collector that should still get enjoyment with playability. This is NOT for high end audiophile collectors.
