78 rpm: Joe Williams “Stack Of Dollars” / “Mellow Apples” 78 RPM 10” 1947
Joe Williams “Stack Of Dollars” / “Mellow Apples” 78 RPM 10” 1947
I’m having a hard time finding information on this artist. There are two one Joe Williams listed on Wikipedia, but information is more scant than usual and neither one quite seems to fit. But, the one called “Big Joe Williams” apparently did not start a recording career until several years after this record.
One thing for sure, sounds like a recording you’d hear in a documentary called something like “Birth of the Blues.” As the label says, “Blues Singer with Guitar, String Bass, Drums and Harmonica Acc.” (Accompaniment)
I like to believe I’ve perfected my cleaning method for 78s, this one sounds super clean with no noticeable snaps, crackles or pops, and no skips. It is in used condition, to be clear.
Will ship in a vintage Columbia paper sleeve OR if you prefer I can substitute a new generic heavy paper sleeve.
Both songs written by Joe Williams.
