This wonderful 2 Disc Set opens a portal into the Sinatra recording process and the unheard heart of some of his 60's recordings. Through multiple outtakes, studio chatter, false starts, stops and of course the finished tracks, we hear the takes that did not make final LP release. The Big Band arrangements are fabulous as Sinatra rides these grooves and sound waves with the usual magical control. His between takes commentary also directs pleasing insight into the artist.

The song selections are fascinating as Frank delivers swinging versions of great standards such as "I Wanna Be Around" and "Come Fly With Me", romance immersed attractions such as "Secret Love" and chart hits of the 60's like "Downtown" and "Winchester Cathedral". Frank's desire to remain current without sacrificing his craft was always paramount to his integrity and perception of his legacy. Mr. Sinatra does justice to both within these excellent and diverse recordings.

There is something here and much more for every fan of this singular talent. These two CD's weigh in at a melodic, loving and often emotional 2 Hours and Twenty Minutes.
