WHAT IS A TIMING STRIP?

Timing strips were a regular thing during the vinyl era when record companies
would service radio stations special 'promotional only' versions of their record

albums. The timing strips were for the convenience of the DJ's providing them actual times of the songs (so they would be able to program their on air hours

between commercials). Each song would also have a small check mark box next to the title, for the convenience of the Program Director who would 'check off' the songs on the album ''approved for airplay" (unless you were a freeform do whatever you like radio station like the legendary KSAN in San Francisco...)...

Additional backstory on this item: The gold stamp embossed promo passage was also a big thing back in the late 80's and 90's (previously the labels stickered promos or drilled holes in the covers)... during the era of fear over duplication and piracy, labels also began 'numbering' their promos. This item features both the gold stamp and is numbered.... there ya go!
