Original 1st Columbia Records US Stereo pressing factory sealed copy of Bob Dylan’s 2nd studio album “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” released on May 27, 1963. We can guarantee with confidence that this copy is the earliest 1st Stereo pressing with the earliest label variation containing the black “Stereo” banner and not the white one which can be found on the subsequent Stereo pressing copies. There’s a certain tendency which allows us to be so confident. We’re talking about the cover containing the “3” number at the bottom right corner on the back identifying that it was printed by Modern Album Finishing Co. in Long Island, NY. This cover variation has a very rare misprint . While the rest of the covers of this album contain 2 credits, “Stereo – CS 8786” and “Monaural – CL 1986”, next to the Columbia Records Eye logo at the top right corner on the back, this cover variation contains only 1 Stereo credit, and this circumstance guarantees that inside you’ll find the 1st U.S. Stereo pressing with the Columbia Records red "Two-Eye" Nonbreakable labels containing the "360 Sound Stereo" banner without the arrows in black. The front cover has a very rare “Singing His Sensational Hit ‘Blowin’ in The Wind” hype sticker affixed to the cover underneath the shrink wrap. The song was composed by Dylan in 1962 and prior to being included into the album was released as a single. The shrink wrap is fully intact containing two factory breathe holes on each side of the album and still has a record store price sticker with a tag at the top right corner of the front cover. If you’re interested in Bob Dylan or invest your funds into rare collectible records, among our currently listed items you’ll find several more very rare promotional issues of Bob Dylan’s albums.
