Poster: "PHOENIX DANCE" 1967 SILKSCREEN FILLMORE CONCERT POSTER BIG BROTHER w/ JANIS
Hello,
This auction is for an authentic and original silkscreen concert poster for the "Phoenix Dance" benefit concert held at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco on March 12, 1967. Featured performers were Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin, Quicksilver Messenger Service, (Steve) Miller Blues Band and Country Joe and the Fish. This concert was not produced by Bill Graham (he would often loan out the Fillmore for benefits) so this poster is not part of the Bill Graham Presents numbered series. It's somewhat rare for a silkscreen poster to have been used at that time - virtually all of the Fillmore and Avalon posters of that era were offset lithographs.
The size of this poster is approximately 14.25" x 20" on thick white vellum paper. The condition is Very Good/Very Good Plus (VG/VG+) with the very colorful image area in fine shape however, the white margins and edges have some aging, dings and handling. There is a .25" tear at the top edge and the bottom right corner area has multiple creases and wear (please see the close-up photos I've provided).
Rolled shipping in a sturdy cardboard tube is via USPS Priority Mail and will cost you between $6.65 - $8.35, depending on your zip code.
Payment is via Paypal only and the buyer agrees to make full payment within 7 days of auction's end, please.
I can combine similar items bought at the same time (rolled posters with rolled posters, flat cardboard posters with flat cardboard posters, records with records etc.) to save you money on shipping. The combined shipping price will be based on the package weight and insurance value.
