1994 MTV VIDEO AWARDS PROGRAM NIRVANA, R.E.M., BEASTIE BOYS, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, ROLLING STONES. PROGRAM AUTOGRAPHED BY TOM JONES.
After 7 years on the West Coast, the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards aired live from NYC on September 8, 1994, honoring the best music videos from June 15, 1993, to June 16, 1993. The show was hosted by Roseanne Barr at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and this would be the last time there was a female host for the VMAs until Chelsea Handler hosted in 2010. Kurt Cobain, frontman of grunge band Nirvana, was honored this night after his death on April 5.
"The performances were spectacular, we had the Stones, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty on the veteran side; Green Day, Beastie Boys, The Smashing Pumpkins and Stone Temple Pilots reppin' the young punks; and Boyz II Men, Salt-N-Pepa and Snoop Dogg holdin' down the R&B/hip-hop front." - Source MTV
