Ray Charles helped develop soul music, blending R&B with gospel, jazz, and blues. Blind from the age of 7, many referred to him as “The Genius”. He first gained mainstream stardom in the 1950s, but also saw success in the 1960s with his crossover country, jazz, and blues albums. It was during this time that he and his Raeletts played the Exhibition Forum in Vancouver, B.C. on August 7th, just days after he played the World’s Fair in Seattle.

This original poster, measuring 14 1/8” x 22”, is on thick cardboard similar to other boxing style posters. This poster was hung up at some point, so it shows some pinholes in each corner, five tape stains around the border, and some handling with two small rips in the right border. It’s still an outstanding poster and very collectible.

On Aug-15-17 at 10:20:58 PDT, seller added the following information:

It was pointed out to us that the support band, Nazz, was not Todd Rundgren's The Nazz. But rather, it was the band which would change names to Alice Cooper, after hearing of Rundgren's band of the same name. Unfortunately, we cannot change the title of this listing at this point in the auction though.
