Poster: 1973 Humble Pie T-Rex Mid South Coliseum Concert Poster
Although Peter Frampton had helped form Humble Pie, by this 1973 show at Memphis, Tennessee’s Mid South Coliseum, he had left the band for a solo career. After his departure, Humble Pie morphed into a heavy rock band. This style fit well with their opening act, T-Rex, who started as an acoustic duo, and transitioned into one of the U.K.’s biggest glam-rock bands of the 1970s.
This original poster, measuring 15 1/2" x 20 1/2", is on glossy paper stock. The poster is in great shape, with some minor handling in the top right, bottom right, and bottom left corners. There is a slight crease at the bottom of the poster that runs from below “Mall” and reaches to “Budget”. And the back shows some discoloration from water – which does not show through to the front of the poster. Any handling marks would be unnoticeable if framed. It’s a very cool drawing by artist Eddy Tucker.
