Work on The Beatles Anthology [the project he had just finished] must have stirred the creative juices in Paul, because FLAMING PIE is full of some of the best McCartney tunes heard in some time ...it's hard to find a weak track here.

Widely considered one of Paul's best solo albums, right along with Ram, Band on the Run & Tug of War. Highlights include "The Song We Were Singing," "Calico Skies," "Great Day," the Beatlesque psych of the title track "Flaming Pie", "Little Willow" and "The World Tonight".
