AUDIOPHILE GRADE VINYL GERMAN PRESSING?
ORIGINAL VERSION DISTRIBUTED BY A&M RECORDS
This LP had been SEALED in factory wrap (thick plastic) until I took photos (SEE LAST PHOTO for LP in ugly original outer wrap)
I found that outer wrap, with the rippled plastic, highly unattractive and have replaced it with a fresh new flap-seal mylar outer sleeve, as you see in PHOTOS 1 and 7 (front / back photos). This also afforded me the opportunity to inspect the vinyl and see the matrix numbers -which are FIRST PRESSING A-1 #s on both sides.
MATRIX NUMBERS
?Side One: C 85337 A-1
?Side Two: C 85337B A-1
in the PHOTO, the Side 2 "B" is too light to show, but it is there, up against the "7"
You'll also see that the "A" on that side is stamped OVER a B.
Obviously they changed their format, etching the B in its current position.
This is perfectly clear with a magnifying glass, but too lightly etched for photo to pick up.
"Made in Germany" also stamped in trail-off wax both sides.
Apparently (I have searched exhaustively online) first German labels were simply A&M? - with ODE logo on front cover (l.r. corner).?
A&M was the original distributing label for ODE and is always mentioned on original issues.
LATER issues, both in Europe and USA would be on COLUMBIA subsidiary EPIC (or CBS in some countries) labels.
SEE PHOTO #6 Back Cover Photo for ODE and A&M trademark info (bottom edge, at right).

"(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman"
Produced by LOU ADLER
"Carole King brought the fledgling singer/songwriter phenomenon to the masses with TAPESTRY, one of the most successful albums in pop music history. A remarkably expressive and intimate record, it's a work of consummate craftsmanship. Always a superior pop composer, King reaches even greater heights as a performer; new songs like the hits "It's Too Late" and "I Feel the Earth Move" rank solidly with past glories, while her chestnuts like "You've Got a Friend", "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow", and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" take on added resonance when delivered in the writer's own warm, compelling voice. With its reliance on pianos and gentle drumming, Tapestry is a light and airy work on its surface, occasionally skirting the boundaries of jazz, but it's also an intensely emotional record, the songs confessional and direct; in its time it connected with listeners like few records before it, and it remains an illuminating experience decades later."
