Bee Gees – Odessa ORIGINAL '69 AUST PRESS 2xLP Vinyl Record 12" GATEFOLD Laminated.

Featuring hits from the 1960s and 1970s, this double LP showcases the band's signature blend of Country Pop, Ballad, Country Rock, and Pop Rock. Produced by Robert Stigwood and the Bee Gees themselves, this Australian pressing comes in a cardboard sleeve with an original inner sleeve and cover. Perfect for music lovers looking to add a touch of disco and rock to their vinyl collection.
The esteemed British pop group, Bee Gees, maintained an active presence in the music industry from 1965 to 2001, during which they launched a total of 22 studio albums. Their sixth studio album, "Odessa," originally released in the US by ATCO in January 1969 (in stereo format only) and subsequently in the UK by Polydor in March 1969 (both in mono and stereo formats), featured a distinctive cover with fuzzy red flocking and gold-stamped title, group name, and label symbol on the front, and a plain flocking on the back. The gatefold design showcased a large dotted image portraying people departing a ship in a lifeboat, devoid of any group photographs and identification, except for the credit to all songs written by B R & M Gibb.

Notably, the mono version of "Odessa" displayed subtler differences compared to the mono versions of the band's previous albums. Specifically, the mono rendition of the song "Odessa" featured reduced echo on the introductory vocals ('baa baa black sheep'), with amplified guitars, particularly in the first verse. Furthermore, "Edison" presented clearer harmony backing vocals, while "Lamplight" exhibited heightened vocal and rhythm guitar levels to enhance audio clarity. The mono mix of "I Laugh In Your Face" played at a slightly accelerated pace, and "First of May" concluded without a fade.

Sleeve: Very light ring/cnr wear, Media: few hairlines o/wise would be NM, doesn't affect playback, plays beautifully, underrated album. Conservative eval.
