I have said many times I won't be having another CD sell off, and then a couple of years go by and I do because my collection gets out of hand and I end up with a lot of duplicates (people don't know what I've got when buying me them as gifts, or I forget what I've got!). Well that's what has happened during lockdown, so here we are again.
For those who haven't bought from me before, I'm not a dealer or shop, just an avid soundtrack collector with no self control (and a poor memory). My collection is important to me, so my CDs have been stored and handled with care (and some of the duplicates will still be sealed and never played).
So here's my lockdown sale, including some rare and limited edition releases, so please keep an eye on my auctions if you're a soundtrack fan. To keep things simple I'm starting everything at 3.99p with free postage (I use second class recorded in a cardboard box rather than a plastic or padded bag as those just aren't sturdy enough for posting a CD). There are some real bargains on offer. For more readily available titles I can't match the bulk sellers like Music Magpie on price, but I can guarantee my CDs will be well described, well looked after and in excellent condition (and posted in decent packaging).
I use mostly stock photos as most of the CDs up for auction are like new or still sealed. If there are any defects of note I will mention them and photograph them if they are worth a photo. A few may have replacement jewel cases if I bought them from overseas and the original cases were damaged in the post, but I will mention that as well. If I describe a CD as "new and sealed", then I mean it is in its original shrink-wrap and has never been opened. I put the majority of my CDs in resealable polythene sleeves to protect the jewel cases from scuffs and scratches, but I would list those as "not sealed" and usually "like new".
I only accept returns if the CD isn't as described, as I've had buyers just ripping CDs and then sending them back for refunds (and then gloating about it).
Enough of the boring rubbish, now for the important stuff...
This auction is for the 2002 Varese Sarabande CD release of the Andre Previn conducted and partially composed score for Rollerball, one of the great moments of sci-fi cinema (the 1975 version of course, if you think I'm talking about the 2002 remake then I may have to pretend I don't know you). The score makes brilliant use of classical music, most notably Bach and Shostakovich, with the scoring for some scenes done by Andre Previn (or Andrew Preview, if you are of a certain age and you know the punchline that follows "I'm playing all the right notes..."). This is a rare CD already.
Not sealed, but jewel case, inlays and CD in "as new" condition.
