Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers 1979-1980-1985-1989 Concert Ticket Stubs (four)

I PAY ALL SHIPPING, FREE, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. I don’t do this to be a nice guy, I do it because it simplifies things for me and saves time. I assume you’ll just build that savings into your bid; overseas winners, that saves you $14 right there…

Today I’m listing a lot of four original concert ticket stubs for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers shows that I was lucky enough to attend back in the day. These are the very last of my Tom Petty tickets, I have nothing else.

• December 31, 1979 – Oakland Coliseum Arena, Oakland, CA. Measures 2 x 4 inches.

• January 27, 1980 – UCSB (University of California at Santa Barbara) Events Center, Santa Barbara, CA. Measures 1 ½ by 2 11/16 inches at its widest. A piece of clear cellophane tape is on the front & wraps around to the back a little; but rather than scrapbook tape or something, I believe this is how they numbered the seats after the initial hard tickets were printed. It looks like my seat location, “3-A-3,” was written on the cello tape itself; I definitely didn’t put the tape on myself.

• August 1, 1985 – Inglewood Forum in Los Angeles, CA. Measures 2 by 3 3/8 inches.

• July 29, 1989 – Universal Amphitheater, Los Angeles, CA. Measures 2 by 3 ½ inches.

Whenever I would get home from a concert, I’d fill out an index card full of details so that I could recall & reminisce about it the rest of my life. For example, I’ve seen Bob Dylan over 50 times in concert; how am I supposed to remember & distinguish all those shows from each other without a system like this? If you can do it from memory alone, you’re a better person than me (smile). Anyway, I show you both sides of my index cards for these concerts, but please know that this eBay auction is for the TICKET STUBS ONLY, not my index cards.

STARTING THIS LISTING AT A BUCK, no reserve, letting the marketplace (you) determine its value. I’ve been an eBay member since the late 1990’s and have never received so much as a single "neutral" feedback in 20 years, let alone a negative one. Because I’m honest, I don’t play games and I work hard at customer service. As for my pricing, I just prefer to let market forces push any item to what its value is this week, and not engage in wishful thinking; I shoot for 100% sell-through. So yes, sometimes you get a bargain, and other times I do really well. It’s all in the thrill ride that is eBay, and I’m a clean player. Also, I DO NOT CLOSE AUCTIONS EARLY, so please don’t ask.

As for my credibility, I've had something on display in a music museum every single day since the fall of 1995, when the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum opened in Cleveland with over 10 of my items on display, including three Beatles Liverpool concert posters. Presently I have a Bob Dylan poster on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, TN. I also have over 575 YouTube videos up where I discuss rare and collectible concert memorabilia.

I also published ICE magazine for compact disc collectors from 1987-2006, and was a Contributing Editor for Rolling Stone magazine from 1988-1995.

Please let me know if you have any rare concert TICKETS OR POSTERS available from the early 1970s back to the 1930s. I love to collect them and pay the very BEST prices in the hobby, whether they’re rock & roll, jazz, blues, psychedelic, big band, country or whatever… I love it all. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
