This listing is for the Madonna album titled "Madonna," originally released in 1983 by Sire Records, on compact disc. This CD was produced in Japan, and has the "target" face indicative of early Warner/Elektra/Atlantic releases. During the early days of the compact disc, there were very few companies capable of mass production of CDs, so the earliest CDs for sale were typically produced in West Germany, Japan, and other countries. These early release CDs are often prized by collectors and audiophiles due to their sound quality and relative scarcity.

CD: Catalog number 9 23867-2; made in Japan. The disc has some scratches, but has been tested and plays perfectly.

CD Matrix Number: 9-23867-2 1E11

Insert Booklet: Printed in Japan ("Manufactured by JVC, Japan"). The insert has some staining and other signs of wear, including the smell of cigarette smoke.

Tray Insert: Catalog number 9 23867-2; printed in Japan (UPC 0 7599-23867-2). The tray insert has some warping and water staining of one of the corners, as well as the smell of cigarette smoke.

Case: Original jewel case with smooth edges. It has some scratches and other signs of wear, including some sticker residue on the back, but has no cracks.
