Vinyl: Super Mario 64 Zoetrope Lathe Cut Vinyl Record
PLEASE READ THROUGH CAREFULLY TO ENSURE YOUR TURNTABLE MEETS THE CORRECT REQUIREMENTS FOR PLAYABILITY!
This is a one of a kind, lathe-cut vinyl record with music from the soundtrack for the N64 game "Super Mario 64". These are part of a series of Nintendo lathe-cut vinyl records and are awesome!
This is a very special “Zoetrope” edition which features an animation style array of Super Mario related themes. To best view the effect, use your fps and have a lot of light on the record. To view in person, try using the free strobe app “StrobeLight” and set the strobe to 30hz or 1800rpm.
This record is a one sided picture disc consisting of roughly 28 minutes of music from the video game.

The record jacket resembles that of the original box art for the front and back covers, with fun, cheeky labels related to the games.
Lathe-cut records are unique in that they are cut one by one and in real-time. This gives each record its own individual character. The quality of a lathe-cut is "medium-fi". They play with a low noise floor still, but will sit in a tighter frequency range. Luckily, you don't lose much when it comes to the sonic character of Nintendo soundtracks!
Get your very own 90's nostalgic timepiece to really add some beautiful depth to your record collection.
Please note: These lathe cut records records are "embossed" meaning they have shallower grooves than a pressed record. The volume will be around 80% comparatively, which isn't ever really an issue, just turn that knob from 7 to 9. And you'll want these requirements for a good clean play through!
12” Lathe Cut records don’t always play well towards the very outer edge on some turntables and will sometimes have a little more noise on the outer edge. Crosley/Victrola/other amazon brands and other cheaper turntables will not work well because of the 7" platters and if you try the needle may skate across the record, causing a big disappointing scratch. It is best to have an adjustable counterweight set to 2-3g for proper playback. If you don't have an adjustable counterweight but still have a 12" platter, such as the audio technica LP60's, you may be fine, but just bare in mind that occasional skipping may occur without the right weight adjustmentsWhile I test across multiple turntables, they can sometimes be finicky with skipping/skating issues, so it is best to try a few adjustments before reaching out, and if nothing seems to resolve it, we're here to help!
There may be the occasional skip, crackle, or pop, however 99% of these lathe cuts play great with the right adjustments on your counterweight. The record jackets are matte, not glossy, and also may have the occasional smudge or scuff. But again, they are typically pretty flawless.
For best results, having an adjustable weighted tonearm between 1.5-3 grams and anti-skating between 1-2 will work fine. Included are read me cards with each record on how to properly take care and play!
These are fan-made vinyl records and are considered "fan-art". I test and play every record before sending out to ensure proper playback and quality. Please message if you’d like to see a video.
