You are bidding on an original and rare AC/DC program from their 1978 If You Want Blood UK Tour. AC/DC are an Australian hard rock band formed in 1973 in Sydney by Scottish brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. They are also considered pioneers of Heavy Metal and are sometimes classified as such, though they have always dubbed their music as simply "Rock and Roll". The line-up remained stable until bassist Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977 for the album Powerage. When lead singer and co-songwriter Bon Scott died in early 1980, he was replaced by ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson. Drummer Phil Rudd was fired in 1983 and was replaced by future Dio drummer Simon Wright. However, he returned in 1994 after Chris Slade (who was with the band from 1990-1994) was asked to leave. Since then and until 2014, the band's line-up remained the same - with Brian Johnson (lead vocals), Angus Young (Lead guitar), Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar), Cliff Williams (bass) and Phil Rudd (drums). In 2014 the band lost Malcolm Young (who retired due to health issues and later died at his home on 18th November 2017) and Phil Rudd (due to legal troubles). Then in 2016 Brian Johnson was advised to stop touring on account of worsening hearing loss. Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose stepped in as the band's vocalist for the remainder of the 2016 Rock or Bust tour and at the end of the tour long-term bass player Cliff Williams retired from the band. AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. AC/DC were named the seventh "Greatest Heavy Metal Band of All Time" by MTV, and in 2004 AC/DC were ranked number 72 in Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time".
This tour was put on in support of the band's first live album If You Want Blood You've Got It which was released in 1978. The tour ran from 25th October 1978 to 5th August 1979 and visited the UK and North America. The line-up consisted of Bon Scott (lead vocals), Angus Young (lead guitar), Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar), Cliff Williams (bass) and Phil Rudd (drums). This 16 page program is from the concert held at the Empire in Liverpool on Monday 30th October 1978. The program is filled with information and photos of the band on stage. THESE GUYS ROCK! The program is in Excellent Condition. All the inner pages are clean and intact - and there are no cutouts, missing bits, tears or writing. It measures 8.25" x 11.75".
