THIS IS EAST COAST SCRANTON, PA ISSUE OF THE COVER AND RECORD! 100% FRONT PEELED SLICK INTACT! ALSO RETAINS THE REMOVED ' TRUNK COVER ' SLICK! WITH VERY NICE ORIGINAL RECORD AND INNER SLEEVE AS WELL! INCLUDES COPIES OF MANY IMPORTANT INTER-OFFICE DOCUMENTS AND MEDIA PRINT ARTICLES FROM THE TIME!

AN ORIGINAL 1966 STEREO 3RD STATE 'PEELED' BUTCHER COVER ISSUE OF THE BEATLES CLASSIC 'YESTERDAY & TODAY' LP! (Capitol ST-2553) THIS ONE WAS MADE AT THE EAST COAST SCRANTON, PA FACTORY (small # 2 at lower right back cover.) ("Peeled or 3rd state")" refers to the fact that the "Trunk Cover" that was adhered over the famous Butcher Cover beneath has been successfully removed to reveal the butcher cover in all it's glory!! This "paste over" replacement slick was originally pasted over the butcher cover to conceal the "controversial" nature of the butcher photo!). VG+++ TO NM- OVERALL ON THE COVER. BACK HAS SOME AGE PROPER AGE MELLOWING. FRONT SLICK IS NEAR MINT 100%. SEAMS ARE REALLY NICE ALL THE WAY AROUND. SOME VERY TINY SMALL THIN HAIRLINE FRACTURE POINTS, BUT THIS COVER IS VERY NICE. THE SCRANTON COVERS WERE MUCH MORE PRONE TO SPLITS AND DAMAGE DUE TO THE THINNER ENAMEL-LIKE THIN PAPER USED. SO VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND THE SEAMS THIS NICE! SEE THE IMAGES! ALSO COMES WITH A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL LETTER OF RECALL ASKING THE DISTRIBUTORS TO RETURN THE ALBUM TO CAPITOL DUE TO IT'S CONTROVERSIAL NATURE (letter is a copy, not an original. LP IS an original of course!!) INCLUDES A BEAUTIFUL MATCHING SCRANTON, PA RECORD THAT HAS NEAR MINT LABELS AND NEAR MINT VINYL.
