THE BEATLES: SEARGENT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND

WOW!

Nimbus Supercut pressing of Sgt Pepper. I don’t usually do audio reviews as its all kind of subjective and I also blew my ears out at punk shows in my teens buy HOLY COW! This sounds genuinely amazing. I presume that if you are reading this you know what this is but, again, wow! End of review.

GRADING

SLEEVE: VG+

The gatefold sleeve is in nice clean condition. There is a little wear to the top edge of the rear of the gatefold. This is not a split from the inside but some rubbing to the outside. The rest of the sleeve is nice and clean with no noticeable wear or damage. The sticker is still attached and sharp. The insert is perfect.

RECORD: EX+

The record is lovely and clean. The surface is beautifully shiny and glossy. Under bright halogen light there are a couple of very light surface marks. These don’t affect playback at all. Superb.

The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine’s system (Please note, I do not use NM – EX+ is my highest grading for unsealed records):

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

Postage Information

Records are sent in dedicated cruciform mailers strengthened with high quality stiffeners.
