CD: SACD - Flute Mystery by Fred Jonny Berg

Fred Jonny Berg (1973-) is a Norwegian, composer, film maker and writer. The music on this SACD is composed on a huge scale, but remains intimate. His use of a vast orchestra marks Fred Jonny Berg as one of the great composers of the 21st century. Besides the title music Flute Mystery, you can experience Warning Zero, Pastorale, Vicino alla Montagna and the quite beautiful Flute Concerto. Emily Beynon is the flautist with the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy and Fred Jonny Berg. Recorded in the Colosseum, Watford, north of London, each work has a different orchesrtal layout and these are printed in the booklet. As the surround sound recording is made from the middle of the orchestra, the impact of being surrounded by this music is nothing less than staggering. We think Flute Mystery one of the great recordings of our time! This is a two disc set with a SACD and a Bluray audio disc encoded with several formats.
